Professional architectural coordination evaluation tasks

Create assignments from real drawings, documents, site imagery and related project evidence. Write both the task and the correct structured deliverable, which another specialist in your discipline checks before release.

Task scope

• Develop RFI responses, coordinated comments and marked drawing sets.
• Cover drawing quality checks, technical peer review, coordination across sheets and constructability.
• Include checks of redlines, design changes, addenda, as built production and drawing scope before bidding.
• Address drawing control, commissioning design review and shop drawing reviews for interiors, millwork and the building envelope.

Required professional practice

Suitable practitioners currently hold, or recently held, roles such as architect of record, project architect, job captain or design coordination lead. An architecture license is expected, or at least 8 years producing permit sets as a project architect or job captain in place of a license.

You need at least 3 years in the relevant role, with 8 or more preferred, and must be based in the United States. Experience must involve US model code jurisdictions, and you need to mark up drawing sets and details in Bluebeam Revu or an equivalent tool.

Stronger fit

Particularly useful experience includes checking other people’s drawing sets, reviewing resolved comments, mentoring job captains, maintaining office standards or detail libraries, and handling RFIs from both the designer and reviewer perspectives. You should recognize conflicts between sheets that a hurried review can miss.

This scope requires authorship or review of drawings. Drafting without set ownership, visualization, interior decoration, or project management focused only on schedules is not sufficient.

Compensation

The hourly rate is $45 to $60, based on experience. There is potential to increase the rate as the project grows.
