What the work involves

• Develop advanced problems and scenarios involving robotic system design, simulation to real world workflows, and field deployment.
• Examine generated answers for technical correctness and feasibility, including whether they reflect how specialists actually approach the work.
• Give researchers organized written feedback explaining your assessment of the response.

Your contribution combines designing demanding questions with evaluating the reasoning in AI answers. Clear explanations of complex robotics concepts are an essential part of the work.

Experience and qualifications

The strongest match meets all three criteria below. Applicants satisfying at least two of the three are also welcome for consideration.

• Professional or research background: Experience delivering working robotic systems or publishing research, plus the ability to build a complete task from simulation through solution.
• Education: An MS or PhD in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with a robotics emphasis; senior industry robotics engineers can qualify without an advanced degree.
• Specialist depth: Depth in ROS or ROS2 and control theory; motion planning, kinematics, dynamics, and sensor fusion; or SLAM and simulation tools such as Gazebo, MuJoCo, or Isaac Sim.

Additional strengths, rather than mandatory requirements, include experience across the robotics software stack, systems deployed to production, and publications in robotics venues.

All applicants need precise written communication, care with details, and the ability to work independently. You should be comfortable completing assignments remotely and communicating asynchronously.

Schedule and compensation

The role offers a flexible schedule with no fixed working times and no minimum hours. You can complete tasks at your own pace while continuing other professional commitments. Pay can reach $47 per hour, with the applicable rate determined by the project.
