Technical problem development

Build difficult problems that test AI capability in aerospace, semiconductors, manufacturing and industrial engineering, or materials science. Work spanning more than one of these areas is relevant, and prior AI experience is not required.

The contract is fully remote, pays $80 to $185 per hour and offers a flexible commitment alongside your current role. Problems should draw on practical expertise where realistic constraints make the difference between a correct answer and a plausible mistake.

• Create technical questions in your own field with the data and constraints needed to solve them.
• Provide a verified solution and explain the reasoning behind it.
• Define objective correctness criteria that let independent experts reach the same assessment.
• Review other contributors' problems for technical accuracy and appropriate methods.
• Flag questions with ambiguous answers or unreliable grading before submission.

Qualifications

A master's or doctoral degree in engineering, physics, materials or a closely related discipline is needed. Candidates should bring principal, staff or fellow experience from a major engineering organization or national laboratory, or hold a faculty appointment at a leading university.

Deep expertise in at least one area should include direct ownership of technical work. You must be able to explain a correct answer clearly enough for another expert to verify it.

Publications, patents and a record of technical leadership are strong advantages.
