Software Engineer (Electron.js)

The work

Develop a cross platform desktop time intelligence application used by thousands of professionals. Build efficient background systems for precise activity tracking, offline operation and reliable synchronization while protecting user privacy.

• Design and evolve an Electron agent with strong performance and a small resource footprint.
• Build accurate real time timekeeping, event tracking and background execution.
• Collect keyboard, mouse and application usage signals with privacy and efficiency safeguards.
• Develop pipelines that function offline and synchronize reliably with conflict resolution.
• Connect distributed backend services and internal APIs for reporting and analytics.
• Improve memory use, runtime efficiency and fault tolerance.
• Work with product, design and backend colleagues on productivity features.

Experience and skills

• At least three years building production desktop applications with Electron.js.
• Strong JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.js proficiency.
• Experience producing consistent behavior across macOS and Windows.
• Practical real time tracking, event stream or activity monitoring work.
• Familiarity with operating system APIs for user and system interaction signals.
• Deep desktop performance optimization knowledge and strong debugging skills.
• Ability to reason through unusual cases in offline and distributed systems.
• Productivity, monitoring or telemetry application experience is preferred.
• Native permissions, system hooks, background processes, privacy and security considerations are useful areas of knowledge.
• Electron automatic updates and release management experience is helpful.

Working arrangements

This full time remote position has a national base salary range of $130,000 to $160,000 per year. Employees are eligible for equity, and performance bonuses may apply depending on role and policy.
