Software Developer

The work

Develop web and cloud software within an AI data and evaluation environment. Build applications, improve backend services and operate AWS infrastructure while collaborating with a distributed technical team.

• Design, implement and maintain dependable web applications.
• Build and optimize backend services using programming expertise.
• Deploy, operate and scale applications on AWS.
• Work with colleagues across functions to deliver quality software.
• Review code carefully and offer constructive feedback.
• Diagnose and fix technical issues efficiently.
• Improve development practices and working processes over time.

Experience and skills

• Expert level programming ability is required.
• Extensive AWS experience in distributed environments.
• A record of delivering scalable, maintainable software.
• Strong software design knowledge and familiarity with version control such as Git.
• Clear written and spoken communication with careful attention to detail.
• Independent working ability alongside effective remote collaboration.
• Strong problem solving and adaptability to unfamiliar technology.
• Agile development experience is preferred.
• DevOps, automated CI/CD, microservices and serverless computing experience are useful additions.

Working arrangements

This contractual engineering role is remote and limited to the United States and Canada. The surrounding technical work supports AI model evaluation, reinforcement learning environments and enterprise AI agents.
