Design problems that require careful interpretation of realistic constraints and data in manufacturing or industrial engineering. The remote contract offers $80 to $185 per hour and a flexible commitment alongside your existing role.

• Develop challenging problems in your specialty, including process design, production systems, quality engineering, automation, supply chain or operations modeling.
• Work out the correct solution and explain the reasoning in enough detail for another engineer to check it.
• Define objective grading criteria that allow different experts to reach the same judgment.
• Review other contributors' questions for technical accuracy and appropriate methods.
• Identify and flag ambiguous or ungradable problems before they are submitted.

Qualifications

A master's or doctoral degree in manufacturing, industrial or mechanical engineering, or a closely related field, is needed. Candidates should have principal, staff or fellow experience at a major manufacturing organization, or a faculty position at a leading university.

• Show deep knowledge of at least one relevant specialty and direct ownership of technical work.
• Explain why a solution is correct in a way that another engineer can verify.
• Publications, patents or a history of technical leadership are strong advantages.
• AI or large language model evaluation experience is useful but is not required.
