Software Engineer, New Grad

The work

Build production systems alongside experienced engineers while developing ownership of internal tools and product features. This early career full stack role spans services, workflows and AI products supporting engineering, operations and recruiting.

• Help design and implement complete features for internal workflows and core software capabilities.
• Build maintainable backend services and APIs while learning practices for scalable engineering.
• Create quality frontend experiences for colleagues and end users.
• Contribute to schema design, data models and database query optimization.
• Work with product, operations and design teams to turn ideas into dependable production features.
• Improve code through reviews, tests, documentation and ongoing refinement.
• Troubleshoot production incidents while learning to build observable, resilient systems.
• Develop engineering judgment by weighing maintainability, speed and scalability.

Experience and skills

• A recent or upcoming bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or a related field.
• Practical software work through internships, co-ops, research or substantial personal projects.
• Strong JavaScript or TypeScript fundamentals.
• Familiarity with React or similar frontend frameworks and Node.js backend development; NestJS is an advantage.
• Understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and basic data modeling.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and how distributed applications exchange information.
• Exposure to Git and contemporary development practices.
• Curiosity, attention to detail, problem solving and willingness to learn quickly in an active engineering environment.
• Preferred experience includes software engineering internships or professional work.
• Cloud exposure across AWS, GCP or Azure, plus CI/CD, deployment pipelines or DevOps foundations, is helpful.
• Awareness of microservices, serverless or event driven design is welcome.
• Interest in AI products, automation and data intensive applications, or experience with team projects, hackathons, open source or startups, is an advantage.

Working arrangements

This full time remote position has a national base salary range of $110,000 to $150,000 per year. Employees are eligible for equity, and performance bonuses may apply depending on role and policy.
