Software Engineer, Internal Platforms

The work

Build and improve internal tools, services and workflows supporting operations, products and AI infrastructure. This full stack role offers growing ownership across backend systems, frontend interfaces and production reliability.

• Help design complete systems for important internal workflows and capabilities.
• Create scalable services and APIs with explicit interfaces and clear technical ownership.
• Develop responsive, efficient interfaces for internal users and stakeholders.
• Contribute to schema design, data modeling and query performance while maintaining databases over time.
• Translate uncertain requirements into workable systems with product, operations and design colleagues.
• Improve monitoring, reliability and the developer experience across internal tools.
• Maintain engineering quality through code review, testing and iterative improvements.
• Diagnose production problems and strengthen operational resilience.
• Make practical choices among delivery speed, scalability and maintainability.

Experience and skills

• Experience contributing to production full stack applications through internships, projects or professional work.
• Strong TypeScript foundations across frontend or backend development.
• Familiarity with Node.js; NestJS is useful additional experience.
• React or comparable interface development skills.
• Understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and core data modeling concepts.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and communication in distributed systems.
• Exposure to AWS or comparable cloud services and awareness of microservices, serverless or event driven architectures.
• Strong problem solving, attention to detail and ownership in a changing, sometimes ambiguous environment.
• Preferred additions include CI/CD, infrastructure as code and DevOps workflows.
• Internal developer tools, operational automation or workflow system experience is helpful.
• AI related or data intensive products, startup or research lab experience and monitoring or reliability practices are further advantages.

Working arrangements

This full time remote position has a national base salary range of $120,000 to $160,000 per year. Employees are eligible for equity, and performance bonuses may apply depending on role and policy.
