Description
Evaluate federal motion practice
Contribute practical federal civil litigation judgment to an AI research project focused on legal writing. The remote contract centers on how AI drafts motions and arguments, and how those drafts can be assessed and improved to reflect courtroom practice.
- Compare motion drafts for persuasiveness, organization, clarity, tone and overall professional quality.
- Rank alternative versions and explain why one argument or presentation is stronger than another.
- Identify gaps against litigation writing standards and edit motions until they are suitable for filing, with explanations of the revisions.
- Design realistic assignments involving federal civil motions and build criteria for evaluating the resulting arguments.
- Draw on actual motion practice to distinguish writing that is legally reasoned and persuasive from writing that needs further work.
Preferred legal background
A JD and current U.S. bar membership in good standing are preferred, together with active practice and substantial federal civil litigation experience. The preferred record includes winning at least three court motions, supported by court filings that can be supplied during screening.
Relevant drafting experience includes substantive filings such as motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment. Appellate litigation experience, or a judicial clerkship followed by litigation practice, is also useful.
Judgment and communication
Strong legal research, analysis and persuasive writing skills support the review work. Be able to critique legal arguments and clearly explain why a particular approach is more effective, while checking reasoning, citations, document organization and professional writing detail.
