A focused project with a leading AI lab needs US patent attorneys to assess generated legal work in prosecution, litigation or both. The reviews contribute legal reasoning data for model training.

Evaluation responsibilities

• Assess prosecution or litigation materials using the project's defined quality dimensions.
• Mark errors within the work itself, covering law, technical content, facts, claim construction and citations.
• Support every assessment with a clear explanation of the reasoning behind it.
• Finish the entire assigned review set during the stated review period.
• Take part in a brief onboarding session before reviews begin.

Required credentials

Candidates must have active admission to at least one US state bar and a minimum of three years practising US patent law. Relevant work includes drafting and prosecuting USPTO applications or litigating infringement, validity and claim construction issues; prosecution reviewers must also be registered before the USPTO.

A J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and a technical or scientific degree are required. Suitable disciplines include engineering, computer science, life sciences, chemistry and physics, or a comparable field. Clear writing and careful attention to detail are essential.

Additional relevant experience

Helpful credentials include a patent bar registration number, experience at an AmLaw 100 firm or major patent boutique, and a patent clerkship in a district court or the Federal Circuit. Previous annotation, AI evaluation, legal benchmarking or legal AI project work is also useful.

Review commitment

The need is immediate, with approximately 12 to 15 hours of work in total during a defined window. Every participating attorney must complete all assigned reviews because the project depends on full coverage.
