Description
Clinical contribution
Help AI research reflect the clinical reasoning used in orthopedic surgery. This hourly contract draws on practical clinical experience to develop demanding tasks and assess the answers produced by AI systems. The work can fit around an existing role through a flexible, part time arrangement.
Tasks and review
- Create challenging exercises based on actual clinical workflows, covering classifying fractures, reading radiographs and CT scans, planning operations, selecting implants and fixation, and managing perioperative and postoperative care.
- Judge model responses for clinical or technical correctness, patient safety, and consistency with current practice and relevant professional guidance.
- Explain your assessments in organized written feedback that researchers can use to improve model performance.
The assignments call for specialist judgment and clear explanations of complex orthopedic surgery concepts. Careful reading and attention to the details of each response are essential to the review work.
Qualifications
Required credentials are an MD, DO, or equivalent degree in medicine, a completed orthopedic surgery residency, and current US medical licensure.
Working knowledge is required in at least one of these areas:
- Trauma care, including fractures of the wrist, ankle, or hip, and adult reconstruction such as hip or knee replacement.
- Sports procedures and arthroscopy, spine surgery, or surgery of the hand and upper limb.
- Foot and ankle surgery, pediatric orthopedics, or musculoskeletal oncology.
Orthopedic board certification or eligibility, or a subspecialty fellowship, is helpful. Further advantages include work in a Level I trauma center, academic medical center, or teaching hospital, publications reviewed by peers, and involvement in clinical research.
All contributors need strong written communication, a careful approach to detail, and the ability to complete assignments independently in a remote environment.
Pay and working arrangements
Compensation is hourly and may reach $180 per hour, depending on the project. Work is fully remote and asynchronous, so tasks can be completed at your own pace without a fixed schedule or a minimum number of hours. The research program operates throughout the year, with assignments opening periodically in different specialties.
