Description
Clinical contribution
Help AI research reflect the clinical reasoning used in radiation oncology. This hourly contract draws on practical clinical experience to develop demanding tasks and assess the answers produced by AI systems. The work can fit around an existing role through a flexible, part time arrangement.
Tasks and review
- Create challenging exercises based on actual clinical workflows, covering target and organ at risk contouring, simulation CT and other imaging review, dose and fractionation choices, plan evaluation, and treatment design.
- Judge model responses for clinical or technical correctness, patient safety, and consistency with current practice and relevant professional guidance.
- Explain your assessments in organized written feedback that researchers can use to improve model performance.
The assignments call for specialist judgment and clear explanations of complex radiation oncology concepts. Careful reading and attention to the details of each response are essential to the review work.
Qualifications
Applicants need an MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree, completed radiation oncology residency training, a current US license to practice medicine, and US work authorization.
Working knowledge is required in at least one of these areas:
- Target and organ at risk contouring across head and neck, thoracic, breast, GI, GU, and CNS cases.
- External beam techniques, including IMRT, VMAT, and image guided treatment.
- Stereotactic radiosurgery and body radiotherapy (SRS/SBRT), brachytherapy, or proton and particle treatments.
- Palliative treatment and oncology emergencies, or pediatric and hematologic radiation oncology.
Board certification or eligibility in radiation oncology, or a subspecialty fellowship, is helpful. Other welcome experience includes academic medicine or comprehensive cancer centers, treatment planning and contouring software, peer reviewed publication, and clinical research.
All contributors need strong written communication, a careful approach to detail, and the ability to complete assignments independently in a remote environment.
Pay and working arrangements
Compensation is hourly and may reach $180 per hour, depending on the project. Work is fully remote and asynchronous, so tasks can be completed at your own pace without a fixed schedule or a minimum number of hours. The research program operates throughout the year, with assignments opening periodically in different specialties.
