Consumer Product Safety Attorney

The work

Help improve AI understanding of consumer product safety through practical legal analysis. Review regulatory materials, explain their implications and turn complex requirements into usable guidance. Prior AI experience is not required.

• Analyze product safety legislation, regulations and standards across jurisdictions.
• Draft, revise and assess legal texts and regulatory compliance documents.
• Provide detailed feedback on safety case studies, regulatory frameworks and compliance scenarios.
• Evaluate compliance approaches and recommend improvements or actions to reduce legal risk.
• Translate technical regulatory wording into clear guidance for model training.
• Identify weaknesses in compliance materials and explain the legal consequences.
• Help create structured content for training datasets and model evaluations.

Preferred experience and skills

• Preferred candidates hold a JD or equivalent legal degree focused on consumer protection, product safety or regulatory compliance.
• Substantial advice on federal, state and international product requirements, such as CPSC rules, EU directives or FDA requirements.
• Ability to interpret complex law and explain it clearly in speech and writing.
• Strong analysis, critical reasoning and attention to detail when assessing real regulatory problems.
• Experience drafting or reviewing safety opinions, technical materials or compliance policies.
• Cross functional project experience and adaptability are helpful.
• Interest in emerging AI applications and contributing legal knowledge to technology work.

The work is performed remotely under a contractor engagement.
