Luxury Automotive Strategy Expert

The work

Provide a candid senior perspective on luxury automotive strategy materials. Review market insights and recommendations as a CEO, CFO, CMO or strategy chief would, identifying whether the analysis is credible, compelling and actionable.

• Assess market research, strategic analyses and recommendations for the luxury automotive sector.
• Identify logic gaps, unsupported assumptions, contradictions and other warning signs.
• Flag recommendations inconsistent with scarcity, exclusivity, disciplined volumes, pricing power, bespoke programs, dealer and client relationships, residual values, electrification or heritage.
• Identify missing issues that a luxury automaker’s leadership would expect to see addressed.
• Deliver structured written feedback on strengths, concerns and improvements, with an optional short debrief call.

Experience and skills

• At least ten years in business strategy with a substantial, demonstrable luxury automotive focus is required.
• Relevant backgrounds include senior consulting roles at McKinsey, BCG, Bain or comparable firms with luxury automotive casework; senior automaker leadership or strategy roles; or advisory and board work with luxury automotive or related ultra luxury brands.
• Understand how executives decide on positioning, production volumes, allocation, pricing, client experience and enduring brand value.
• A record of critically reviewing strategy documents and producing incisive executive level feedback.
• Excellent written English.
• Direct work with Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, McLaren or Bugatti is preferred.
• Experience in adjacent luxury fields such as fashion, watches, yachts or private aviation is useful.
• Work with executives and boards, and knowledge of electrification, wealthy client trends, regional demand and personalization programs, are advantages.

Working arrangements

This is a short, clearly scoped remote advisory engagement with a flexible schedule around existing commitments. The feedback will inform strategic material intended for senior decision makers.
