Required experience

At least three years of professional software development experience is required. You need proficiency in one or more major languages, such as Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, Java, C++, Go, or Rust.

Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and computational complexity is essential. You should understand software design, clean coding practices, and engineering tradeoffs, and have experience reviewing code and explaining its strengths and weaknesses.

Clear, concise English writing and dependable independent delivery are required. Assignments call for expert judgment about code quality and architecture.

Helpful background

Experience across several languages, frameworks, or technology stacks is useful. System design, distributed systems, backend architecture, security practices, and performance optimization are relevant areas of expertise.

Familiarity with AI or ML concepts and coding tools such as Copilot or ChatGPT is welcome. Code evaluation, technical mentoring, open-source contributions, competitive programming, and technical interviewing are additional advantages.

Contract scope

This remote hourly contract involves 10 to 40 hours weekly with flexible asynchronous scheduling. Contributors work alongside an international engineering community and AI researchers, with possible continuing assignments or an extension as projects open.
