Record everyday activities

Create recordings from your own perspective while carrying out ordinary daily routines in India. Attach a compatible smartphone to a head strap or holder so you can move naturally and film without holding the phone.

• Record activities such as preparing meals, cleaning, reading or exercising.
• Keep every clip between 15 and 60 minutes long.
• Exclude personally identifying information, including faces, contact details and identity information.

You may record at home or another preferred location within India. The project is expected to continue through the end of 2026, and each participant may submit up to 60 hours of video in total.

Participant and equipment requirements

Participants must live in India and be at least 18 years old. You need to be able to operate both the smartphone and its head mount.

• An iOS phone must support 0.5 zoom: iPhone 12 or newer is specified, excluding iPhone Air.
• An Android phone must have an ultrawide mode; the listing notes that this is mostly found on models released after 2020.
• Supply your own head strap or holder, as this equipment is not provided.

Review and compensation

Payment is $4 USD for each hour of accepted video recording. This rate refers to accepted footage, and all submissions undergo a check against project requirements before acceptance; the project team provides feedback after that review.

Choose PayPal, an electronic gift card or wire transfer. The payment periods below start once your submitted delivery is accepted.

• PayPal payments arrive within 10 to 15 business days. Make sure your account accepts the incoming payment to prevent it being returned.
• Wire transfers arrive within 20 to 30 business days and are available only for payments exceeding $50 USD. Your bank may deduct transfer fees.
• Electronic gift cards arrive by email within 7 to 10 business days. Check the spam folder as well as your inbox.

The gift card catalogue contains the available redemption choices. Monetary options such as Venmo, PayPal and bank transfer may involve fees, so review the available methods and costs before redeeming a reward.

If payment is handled through the work management service mentioned in the listing, its own payment terms apply.

Registration and data handling

Registration involves completing a participant form. New participants are guided through a three-step account setup; returning participants can sign in with their existing account.

The project states that submitted data is confidential and will not be used for advertising or distribution. Recordings still need to meet the separate requirement to contain no personally identifying information.
