Bilingual Participant - Paid 3-Day Research Study in NYC

Share how you use technology

Help researchers understand how people from different language and cultural backgrounds use phones, apps and everyday digital tools. This paid study takes place in person in Midtown Manhattan, with $1,200 to $1,600 for full participation.

• Spend one to three days with the research team showing your usual phone and app use.
• Share examples of daily phone activity, choosing which examples you include.
• Complete a brief questionnaire about your habits.

The research aims to inform products that work better for people whose native language is not English.

Who can participate

You must be at least 18 and currently live in NYC. The study includes these native language and childhood country combinations:

• Finnish speakers who grew up in Finland.
• Polish speakers who grew up in Poland.
• Arabic speakers who grew up in Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates.
• Hebrew speakers who grew up in Israel.

You need to use your native language in daily activities such as messages, emails or notes and have used a smartphone as your main personal phone for at least three years. Comfortable English communication is required, and current employees of technology or AI businesses are excluded.

Schedule and participation

Although activities span one to three days, you must be available for three consecutive days: Monday through Wednesday or Thursday through Saturday. The study may suit international students, recent NYC arrivals and people with flexible schedules or between jobs.

Participation is voluntary under a signed consent form explaining the study. You can ask questions or stop participating at any time.

Registration includes a short screening questionnaire. Session dates are confirmed for shortlisted participants.
