Infrastructure work

Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure for AI development workflows, with a focus on automation, reliability, and scale.

• Build systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure and automate provisioning with Terraform, Ansible, or comparable tools.
• Monitor performance and improve the reliability and capacity of infrastructure.
• Diagnose deployment problems and infrastructure bottlenecks.
• Explain troubleshooting, architecture, and optimization choices clearly and concisely.

Technical requirements

At least four years of professional DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure experience focused on IaC is required. You need strong practical knowledge of Terraform, which is preferred, or Pulumi or AWS CloudFormation.

Experience with a major cloud provider is essential; AWS is preferred, with Azure or GCP also acceptable. You should understand networking, IAM, VPCs, security groups, resource policies, responsible state management, and modular infrastructure code that avoids unnecessary duplication.

Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI is relevant to the role. Fluent English, strong writing, and interest in AI or ML infrastructure, cloud computing, or secure system design are expected.

Education and arrangement

A bachelor's degree completed or in progress in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required; a master's or PhD is preferred. The posting also identifies three to five years of DevOps, cloud, or SRE experience as helpful alongside its four-plus-year IaC requirement.

This is an hourly, at-will contract performed remotely and asynchronously for at least 15 hours weekly. US-based contributors are preferred, with a US pay range of $25 to $100 per hour and rolling starts as projects open.

Selection and development

The process includes an English-language AI screening followed by an assessment of DevOps, IaC, CI/CD, and virtual machines. Candidates are contacted when their background matches active work, and strong contributors may lead new programs or mentor other specialists.
