Friday Flash: 470 new gigs this week
470 new AI training listings in the seven days to October 30, and they split into two very different doors. The wide one is language work: rating search results in dozens of locales, recording natural speech in languages that rarely get a posting at all, and role-playing clinic phone calls in your native language to test an AI receptionist. The narrow one is licensed expertise: radiology roles at up to $350/hr, a dermatologist seat at $275/hr, a run of specialist physicians from ophthalmology to orthopedic surgery, and attorneys across regulatory niches with top rates up to $400/hr. Between the two sits something we rarely see: paid in-person studies in New York, Los Angeles and the South Bay.

What caught our eye this week
The wide door: your native language
The deepest block this week was language work, and most of it screens on fluency rather than a credential. Search-rating roles opened in dozens of locales, from Hindi and Gujarati to Danish and Hebrew: you judge whether results for everyday queries are relevant, across text, images, audio and video. Conversation-recording projects went out in languages that almost never appear on a job board (Assamese, Lingala, Kyrgyz, Maltese, Icelandic), asking for a few hours a day of natural, unscripted speech. And a set of voice evaluation roles in Korean, German, Dutch, Japanese and Mandarin has you role-play clinic calls to test an AI receptionist. Read the pay line before you apply: it swings widely by country, from about $4/hr on some of the search-rating roles to $40/hr at the top of the voice evaluation range. Browse them all under translation, evaluation and voice.
The narrow door: a license
At the top of the board, the gate is a license and the pay reflects it. For physicians: radiology at up to $350/hr, breast imaging at $300/hr, dermatology at $275/hr, and infectious disease and endocrinology at $200/hr, mostly judging AI answers for accuracy and patient safety in their own specialty. A second group of physician roles (ophthalmology, emergency medicine, orthopedic and trauma surgery, cardiology, neurology) lists up to $180/hr. On the legal side, attorneys were wanted in regulatory niches such as gaming, consumer product safety, energy and FDA compliance, plus US contract attorneys for litigation, transactional and in-house work at $100–125/hr. One opening for people still in school: citation-checking work for current law students and recent JD graduates with Bluebook experience. Senior software engineers had their own lane too, at $100–200/hr to assess how AI coding agents reason and explain their work. See medical, legal and our guide for clinicians.
The unusual one: show up in person
Three paid studies recruited this week, and all three need you in the room. In New York, native speakers of more than a dozen languages, from Danish and Finnish to Hebrew, Korean and European Portuguese, can join a three-day study in Midtown Manhattan on how people use their phones and apps; the listings state $1,200 to $1,600. In Los Angeles, a study of everyday household tasks such as cooking or a DIY project pays $100 for a half day or $200 for a full day. In the South Bay, a single group conversation session pays $110 with no preparation. Studies like these record how people actually talk, use their phones and do chores, which is hard to capture any other way. They sit under data collection.

Methodology
A listing counts as new when our tracker first sees it on a platform’s own job board. This week’s window: 2026-10-23 to 2026-10-30. Some boards advertise one role under many headlines; where we can tell, we keep one listing per role. Apply buttons go straight to the source’s application page, no SignalGigs account required. Pay ranges are parsed from the source listing; if a rate looks off, check the underlying post.

Frequently asked questions
What new AI training jobs were posted this week (October 30, 2026)?
470 new AI training listings were first seen between 2026-10-23 and 2026-10-30. Language work (search-result rating, conversation recording and native-speaker voice evaluation) made up the largest share, while specialist physicians and attorneys held the highest rates. Hourly listings that state a rate averaged a top rate of $100/hr.
Do I need a degree or license for these roles?
It depends on the role. The language work asks for native fluency in the language named in the title, and some of the search-rating roles say no previous experience is needed. The physician roles ask for a medical license and the attorney roles for a law degree and bar admission. The citation-checking roles are open to current law students and recent JD graduates. Each listing states its own requirements.
What are the paid in-person studies?
Three studies recruited this week. In New York, native speakers of more than a dozen languages can join a paid three-day study in Midtown Manhattan on how people use phones and apps; the listings state $1,200 to $1,600. In Los Angeles, a study of everyday household tasks such as cooking and DIY pays $100 for a half day or $200 for a full day. In the South Bay, a single group conversation session pays $110. You have to be able to attend in person.
What counts as "new this week"?
Every listing counted here was first seen by our tracker in the 7 days ending 2026-10-30 and is still open. Listings come from the platforms' own job boards and close once they have been missing from their source across several checks. Some boards advertise one role under many headlines; where we can tell, we keep one listing per role.
