Design assessment tasks

• Compare posters, covers, page layouts and brand pieces against a specific brief and audience.
• Examine visual hierarchy, spacing, typography, color and the relationship between text and images.
• Flag production issues such as unsuitable formats, low resolution, margin problems or incorrect print color.
• Check consistency with the brief and the relevant brand or publication style.
• Write concise explanations that make each design judgment understandable to another reviewer.

Relevant professional experience

Backgrounds include graphic, editorial, layout, publication or brand design and art direction. You should have designed for print, web or publications for a business, studio, publisher or client, handling briefs, revisions, production files and final delivery.

You should use professional design applications such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop or Figma every day. Clear written English and the ability to explain why one design succeeds more than another are important.

Selection process

Rate discrepancy in the posting
