Contribute firsthand civilian intelligence experience to a remote contract with an AI research lab. The work is intended for current and former professionals from U.S. and allied government agencies, including operations, technology, strategy, policy, program management and senior leadership.
Your knowledge of agency responsibilities, decision making, program management and national security missions will inform AI training and evaluation.
- Assess generated content and scenarios about agency structures, operating processes, technology and national security decisions.
- Judge whether responses are accurate, realistic and practically relevant based on your professional experience.
- Explain agency responsibilities, internal workflows, coordination arrangements and decision processes through structured feedback.
- Identify factual errors, unrealistic assumptions and missing context, then recommend improvements.
- Help develop and review realistic, unclassified scenarios based on challenges faced by civilian intelligence professionals.
- Provide clear written assessments supported by evidence to improve AI understanding of agency functions, professional responsibilities and government settings.
Preferred experience
Direct civilian employment in a U.S. or allied intelligence agency is preferred. Examples include the CIA, DIA, NSA, NGA, ODNI, NRO, MI5, MI6, GCHQ or an equivalent allied organization.
Relevant functions include intelligence operations, analysis, collection and mission support. Technology experience may involve IT, engineering, cybersecurity or digital transformation.
Program management, organizational operations, administrative leadership, policy, strategy, governance and coordination across agencies are also relevant. Senior management, executive responsibility and organizational decision making are additional suitable backgrounds.
Evaluation strengths
Preferred candidates understand the structures, professional practices and operating conditions of civilian intelligence agencies. They can assess complex situations, identify inaccuracies and explain their conclusions with sound reasoning.
Strong written English is expected for communicating assessments. The wider government and defense work includes evaluating AI generated military and government reports, where accurate content, operational understanding and expert judgment are central.
