IT Manager

The work

Contribute experienced IT management judgment to a technology focused AI project. Explain architectural and operational decisions, review proposed solutions and share practical leadership insights. Prior AI experience is unnecessary.

• Provide analysis of IT strategy, system architecture and infrastructure improvement scenarios.
• Evaluate vendor management and procurement problems with attention to integration and effective collaboration.
• Offer realistic examples concerning security compliance, risk reduction and regulatory obligations.
• Critique proposed technology solutions for architectural and implementation weaknesses.
• Share methods for leading teams, transferring knowledge and improving technical skills.
• Review documentation, workflows and process designs for clarity, feasibility and efficiency.
• Participate in structured discussions and written assignments supporting AI tools for IT work.

Preferred experience and skills

• Preferred experience is at least five years managing IT systems, leading technical teams or overseeing enterprise infrastructure.
• Expertise in IT strategy, architecture and technology roadmaps.
• Strong vendor management, contract assessment and third party integration experience.
• Detailed understanding of ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR or similar security and compliance frameworks, plus risk management.
• Clear written and spoken explanations of technical concepts.
• Experience mentoring or coaching IT professionals.
• Ability to assess documents and operational processes from a broad IT management perspective.

Working arrangements

The engagement is a remote contractor role for experienced IT and systems managers.
