Project Manager

Client project ownership

Manage client projects from initial planning and requirements through execution, tracking, delivery and closure. Reporting to the enterprise program manager, you will understand client needs and coordinate a global team to fulfill them.

The work calls for steady initiative, strong relationships across the project group and adaptability in a changing environment. Delivery should support customer service, quality, improvements in working methods and effective international collaboration.

Planning and delivery

• Define scope, gather requirements and confirm them with the client.
• Identify internal and customer stakeholders and arrange resources that match quality, cost and scheduling needs.
• Assess risks and contingency plans using a plan, do, check and act approach.
• Lead internal staff and external suppliers through execution, maintaining schedules and monitoring delivery dates.
• Manage budgets, control project expenditure and protect margins.
• Resolve problems through corrective and preventive action, while improving delivery quality, customer satisfaction and profitability.
• Maintain relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers across the project.

Reporting and operational control

Provide written and verbal updates on scope, finances, progress and status, both through formal reporting and when additional updates are needed. Keep financial systems accurate and current, document processes and support knowledge sharing.

Performance is measured through client satisfaction, timeliness, cost control, profitability, revenue throughput and growth in client business.

Experience and education

A related bachelor’s degree is required. You should have established project management experience in a busy client focused setting, preferably translation or localization, and a record of managing substantial accounts or projects.

Knowledge of the translation industry, its technology, operating methods, competitors and developing trends is relevant. The position also requires financial management, budget versus actual analysis, client relationship skills and business development ability that supports organic growth.

Experience developing processes and ideas is expected, together with curiosity about improving established approaches. Availability for work related travel is necessary.

Leadership and working style

You need to lead large, diverse virtual teams, communicate and present clearly, and organize competing priorities under tight deadlines. Sound problem solving and attention to detail are essential when quality, time, resources or budget create pressure.

Learn account tools and processes quickly, maintain constructive client relationships and provide training to a project coordinator. Strong interpersonal skills, energy and a positive working approach support this coordination.
