Description
Translate, refine and evaluate language content
You'll translate between English and your native language while preserving meaning, cultural nuance and clarity. The talent pool covers specialties such as life sciences, IT, marketing, law and finance, while also welcoming other areas of expertise.
The contribution goes beyond direct translation: editing, localization and structured feedback help improve content and language model quality. Your knowledge of the intended market should inform how the text reads and how well it fits its context.
Language responsibilities
- Translate content accurately between English and your native language without losing cultural context.
- Edit wording for correctness, tone and suitability across digital content channels.
- Follow current language standards, usage conventions and relevant writing practices.
- Evaluate language model output and provide organized feedback on quality.
- Collaborate with production and cross-functional colleagues to localize material for the intended language market.
- Support content creation, localization and quality assurance for digital tools and applications.
- When transcreation is required, adjust the wording creatively beyond a literal translation so the finished piece reads naturally in the target language.
Qualifications
You need native-level command of the target language and the ability to follow supplied terminology and reference materials accurately. The qualification routes are a graduate credential in translation, linguistics or language studies; a graduate credential in another subject plus two years of full-time professional translation; or five years of full-time professional translation experience.
Professional judgment should support both linguistic accuracy and contextual relevance. Precise treatment of terminology and reference documents is important across translation, editing and quality evaluation assignments.
Availability and contract terms
This is independent 1099 contract work intended to supplement other income, not a full-time job or guaranteed primary income source. Demand changes between projects, so assignments and hours are not guaranteed.
You decide when to work and how much to accept, without fixed schedules or routine check-ins. Once you accept an assignment, reliable availability, quality work and timely delivery are expected; most tasks require at least two hours per day or ten hours per week.
Employee benefits are not included: the arrangement does not provide health insurance, paid time off or retirement contributions. Contractors handle their own taxes, and geographic restrictions may affect participation.
Projects and professional development
Paid assignments combine language expertise with AI and language technology, with prompt payment for completed work. Access to varied projects can broaden your portfolio and develop skills across different industries and subject areas.
The work connects linguists, subject specialists and other language professionals in an international community. Their contributions support multilingual AI and human-reviewed services for businesses, governments and AI developers, while offering opportunities to build a professional network.
Selection and onboarding
Prepare an updated résumé or CV in English that describes your professional background. A test in your specialist domain may be requested as part of selection.
After selection and any required test, onboarding includes completing the remaining application form, establishing payment details and setting up your participation in the professional community. The assessment process is matched to the area of expertise needed for the work.
Automated tools may assist with résumé review, test scoring or interview analysis. These tools support the evaluation process, but final selection decisions are made by people.
