Description
Find and document search failures
This language evaluation project needs Japanese speakers who can test realistic searches and explain where AI responses fall short. The emphasis is on practical execution and consistent results, with performance taking priority over advanced academic credentials.
- Develop search queries, try them against the model and record inadequate responses.
- Expect to test several queries before finding a useful failure and keep refining your attempts.
- Examine local relevance, the reliability of sources, outdated facts, language mismatches, missing information and answers that do not apply in the region.
- Write instructions and evaluation criteria that explain what a correct response needs to do.
Skills and useful experience
You need to research across websites, databases and documentation, verify information from several sources, and recognize contradictions. Careful review should catch subtle language differences, local prices, regulations, requirements and unusual cases.
Clear writing matters: other reviewers must be able to follow your instructions, scoring criteria and reasoning. You should also be comfortable with repeated testing when an initial approach does not find a problem.
Experience in research, quality assurance, compliance or another field that demands precise source verification is preferred. Close familiarity with Japanese regulations, business practices and cultural context is valuable for identifying failures tied to the locale.
Project terms
- Work remotely from Japan under a freelance contract.
- Commit 20 hours each week to an ongoing project.
- Begin as soon as possible, with compensation of $35 to $57.75 per hour.
The work suits someone who enjoys carrying out tests and producing usable evaluations. A preference for primarily theoretical or academic research may be less suited to this assignment.
