Localization production engineering

Support the workflows, tools, and infrastructure used to prepare and deliver localized software content. Work with production teams, senior engineers, and project managers, following established processes and escalating more complex technical problems.

Technical responsibilities

• Help implement localization workflows and maintain production tools.
• Troubleshoot and debug tools, files, and processes under guidance.
• Maintain translation memories and glossaries.
• Support translation and production staff with file formats and localization tools.
• Prepare and maintain localization kits so content is correctly formatted for translation.
• Run file preparation, conversion, and quality checks.
• Carry out linguistic and functional QA on localized content.
• Resolve basic technical problems and involve senior engineers when more complex issues arise.

Follow the production steps defined by senior colleagues and take part in training on tools and processes. Close coordination with the wider team supports accurate, timely project execution.

Background and skills

A degree, diploma, or equivalent background in a computing subject is required, with related language or software localization experience. The source lists 1 to 2 years in software localization or a related field.
