Evaluate translation preferences

Support a synthetic data project by comparing machine generated Assamese translations. Each sample is reviewed independently by three validators in a blind process.

• Read an English source alongside two Assamese translation variants.
• Assess accuracy, fluency, and overall translation quality.
• Select the stronger version and explain your choice clearly in writing.
• Review audio and the corresponding transcripts for accuracy, completeness, and quality.
• Apply project rules to both transcription and recording quality.
• Complete assigned reviews independently and within agreed timelines.

Required language skills

Native written and spoken Assamese and English proficiency are required. Strong writing in Assamese, close attention to detail, and consistent judgment are important.

A background in linguistics, translation, or language quality assessment is preferred. Familiarity with Romanized writing conventions is helpful for transliteration tasks.

Freelance participation

This is a remote freelance contract. Contributions are project based and can fit your availability, with the amount of work dependent on available assignments.

Learning and support

Optional workshops on AI and large language models are available, with no coding required. Contributors receive guidance through an international community and collaborate with data professionals on language evaluation.

The core work is translation validation and audio review; your linguistic explanations help identify where generated content is accurate and where it needs improvement.
