Native Uyghur speakers can help develop audio data for speech technology. You may choose recording, transcription, or both types of work.

For recordings, speak naturally about ordinary topics either alone or in conversation with another speaker. There is no script, and each recording lasts between 2 and 15 minutes.

The work and language requirements

• Record natural Uyghur speech or listen to audio and transcribe exactly what the speakers said.
• Follow the detailed project guidelines consistently.
• Work comfortably with written material as well as audio or video.
• Provide feedback that is clear and useful.

You need fluent Uyghur and a strong command of English. The work supports AI language technology and connects contributors with linguists and subject specialists working across languages and disciplines.

Assessment and onboarding

Begin with a brief registration form that can be completed on a phone, and provide a current CV in English. A short unpaid sample test is emailed for recording, transcription, or both, depending on the work you select; a language fluency assessment is part of the process.

After passing, complete a contractor agreement, a background check, and payment setup. Once onboarding is finished, you receive access to the work and can also become eligible for other available projects.

How compensation works

Payment is based on each hour of approved audio recorded or transcribed. Rates vary with the language and task type and are communicated before you start.

Availability and the contractor arrangement

The general arrangement allows independent contractors to choose their work schedule and how much work to accept, without fixed check ins. Once you accept an assignment, reliable availability, quality, and timely delivery are expected; most tasks require at least two hours per day or ten hours per week.

Work volume changes with project demand, and hours are not guaranteed. The opportunity is intended as supplemental income rather than a dependable full time or primary income source.

This is a 1099 contractor arrangement without health insurance, paid leave, or retirement contributions. Participation may be subject to geographic restrictions, and contractors handle their own tax obligations.
