Linguistic and interface testing

Proofread and edit content already localized into your native language. Check grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, inappropriate wording, inconsistent usage and unnecessary spacing, while also testing interfaces for functional problems.

Some assignments involve translating English content into the target language. Evaluate translations in the context of software, mobile applications and documentation rather than as isolated text.

Testing responsibilities

• Follow project instructions and test cases accurately across different products.
• Record relevant defects clearly in internal databases or client-specific bug tracking tools.
• Prioritize tasks and issues efficiently.
• Research linguistic questions and provide subject expertise for the target language.
• Follow project quality standards, trademark rules, style guides, checklists and glossaries.
• Troubleshoot basic issues and escalate testing problems clearly.
• Complete assigned work accurately and on time.

Required qualifications

A relevant bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is requested. Native-level or fully bilingual spoken and written ability in the required language is essential, together with cultural awareness and current knowledge of technical language usage.

Strong written and spoken English is required. The description does not name the target language and includes the ability to work onsite or at a client location.

Work environment

Tasks involve extended periods at a computer, including sustained keyboard and mouse use and remaining in a stationary position. Content may include material concerning sex, health, race or violence that some reviewers find offensive.

The role reports to a vendor project manager and requires clear communication when priorities or testing issues need attention.
