Advanced editorial review

Assess complex or ambiguous generated writing and explain the editorial decisions needed to improve it. Assignments cover varied subjects, formats, and audiences, with consistent standards across large writing and quality review projects.

• Check content for accuracy, clarity, and internal consistency.
• Give detailed feedback that explains the reasons for proposed revisions.
• Evaluate writing quality across different reader needs and formats.
• Handle open-ended review tasks independently and asynchronously.

Required background

Advanced English writing and editing experience is essential, supported by a portfolio showing strong editorial judgment. Your qualifications must include graduate study at master's level or above in English, Humanities, Journalism, or a relevant discipline.

You should detect subtle problems in logic, tone, and expression and explain your decisions clearly. The work calls for critical thinking and close attention to detail; previous AI experience is not needed.

Helpful experience and arrangement

Editorial, publishing, content strategy, professional writing, proofreading, quality assurance, and academic writing backgrounds are useful. Familiarity with AP, Chicago, MLA, or other style guides is welcome.

The role is an hourly remote contract with flexible scheduling for 10 to 40 hours weekly. Further assignments and contract extensions may be available.
