Description
Motion brief evaluation
Assess pairs of motion briefs written for the same case to support legal AI research. Choose the stronger brief, explain your preference and score both against defined quality dimensions.
- Read both briefs carefully and justify your comparative judgment.
- Score each brief on the assigned evaluation criteria.
- Mark legal, factual, citation and drafting errors directly in the PDFs.
- Complete the full required set of reviews and attend a short onboarding session before kickoff.
Required experience
- Active bar membership in at least one US state.
- At least three years of US litigation practice, with substantial federal court experience drafting or opposing motions.
- A practice primarily governed by federal law or conducted in federal court. A mainly state law practice, such as family law, does not fit this project.
- A JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Clear writing and close attention to detail.
At least two years of AmLaw 100 experience is strongly preferred. Prior legal AI work with the hiring program, data annotation, evaluation or legal benchmark experience is also helpful.
Timing
The project requires an immediate start and about 30 to 40 hours in total, all within a one-week review window. Every participating attorney must finish the full set of required reviews.
