M&A and financial AI research

Combine corporate development and M&A work with research and evaluation of AI financial reasoning. This full-time remote role supports financial analysis, due diligence, transaction activities, and a data partnership program in which businesses contribute anonymized operational data for AI training.

The work connects practical deal execution with the design and evaluation of AI systems for complex corporate finance workflows.

Responsibilities

• Support corporate development and M&A through financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, and transaction research.
• Build financial models, assess businesses, and prepare strategic analyses for internal decisions.
• Help prepare transaction documentation, investment memoranda, financial reports, and related deliverables.
• Analyze business models, financial performance, and operational workflows relevant to data partnerships.
• Conduct commercial and financial diligence, assessing transaction risks, opportunities, and strategic considerations.
• Design evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, and realistic tests for AI agents performing corporate finance and M&A work.
• Review AI-generated financial analyses, transaction assessments, and strategic recommendations for accuracy and performance.
• Collaborate with corporate development, AI research, engineering, and product colleagues on transactions and AI development.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in corporate development, M&A, investment banking, private equity, or transaction advisory, including direct deal execution or transaction support.
• Practical financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, transaction analysis, and strategic assessment skills.
• Strong understanding of corporate finance, deal structures, M&A processes, and financial decision-making.
• Experience preparing investment memoranda, diligence reports, financial analyses, or transaction documents.
• Ability to analyze complex businesses, financial information, and operating processes, then turn financial workflows into structured research questions and AI evaluation criteria.
• Clear analytical thinking and communication across financial and technical teams.
• A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred experience

Helpful experience includes an internal corporate development or M&A team, especially buy-side work; technology transactions; strategic investments; enterprise partnerships; commercial diligence; deal structuring; and post-merger integration.

Experience with data-driven businesses, enterprise data partnerships, or AI commercial models is valuable. An MBA, CFA, other advanced financial qualifications, familiarity with AI agents or language models, and proficiency in Excel, Python, SQL, or related analytical tools are also preferred.

Compensation and benefits

The national base salary range is $200,000 to $250,000. Employees are eligible for equity and may receive performance bonuses depending on the role and applicable policies.
