Description
The work
Create demanding physics problems and assess whether AI solutions are scientifically sound and logically complete. This remote hourly contract involves 10 to 40 hours per week and welcomes Physics PhD researchers and graduates without prior AI experience.
Responsibilities
- Design advanced problems in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and related fields.
- Write detailed solutions that show each stage of rigorous reasoning.
- Judge generated answers for scientific correctness, problem solving quality, and depth of explanation.
- Identify missing reasoning, mistakes, and weak approaches to difficult physics concepts.
- Collaborate with researchers on benchmarks covering undergraduate through doctoral material.
Background and skills
Applicants must be pursuing or hold a PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely related discipline. Strong analysis and problem solving across advanced topics are required.
You should explain complex ideas precisely in writing, examine the reasoning as carefully as the final answer, and deliver reliable work independently. Previous AI experience is unnecessary.
Additional strengths
Academic research, teaching, scientific writing, annotation, evaluation, or quality assessment are helpful. Familiarity with AI tools as a user and breadth across areas from classical mechanics to quantum systems are also welcome.
Working arrangements
This is a remote hourly contract with 10 to 40 hours per week. Work is organized around independent assignments and a flexible schedule. Work is asynchronous, with potential for additional assignments or contract extensions as projects develop.
