Accounting & Finance Expert

The work

Evaluate AI accounting guidance, financial reports, and models against practical professional standards. This remote project contract involves 10 to 40 hours weekly and draws on hands on accounting and financial workflow expertise.

Responsibilities

• Review accounting content addressing US GAAP, IFRS, and HGB for correct and complete treatment.
• Evaluate reporting, preparation of financial statements, and compliance content.
• Check DCFs, valuations, and spreadsheet models for correctness and practical applicability.
• Identify misstatements, missing analysis, and errors in accounting guidance.
• Provide detailed feedback that improves financial understanding and communication.
• Create and assess example scenarios, journal entries, and workflows that demonstrate sound accounting practice.

Background and skills

Applicants should be experienced accounting or finance professionals with WP, StB, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualifications or practical experience. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, or German GAAP under HGB and their application is required.

You need familiarity with preparing financial statements, closing reporting periods, and managing the general ledger. Understanding of DCFs, comparable company analysis, and Excel models is also required. Clear written English and a precise, methodical review style are essential.

Previous AI experience is unnecessary.

Additional strengths

Professional accounting credentials such as Wirtschaftsprüfer, Steuerberater, CPA, or ACCA are welcome. Useful reporting experience includes SEC, BaFin, or public company requirements, with audit, tax, or advisory work at a Big 4 or other professional services firm.

Additional strengths include SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, DATEV, or Xero; advanced Excel or VBA, financial planning and analysis, accounting across jurisdictions; and reviewing, writing, or editing technical finance material.

Working arrangements

This is a remote project based contract with 10 to 40 hours per week. Work is organized around independent assignments and a flexible schedule. Assignments are asynchronous and can be scheduled independently.

Further finance projects may lead to ongoing work or contract extensions.
