Description

Federal regulatory work for AI training

Contribute practical rulemaking knowledge to a remote contractor project supporting a federal government customer. Previous AI experience is not required; the work draws on expertise in regulatory policy and its professional workflows.

Assignments and review

  • Develop realistic regulatory scenarios based on federal rulemaking processes.
  • Assess other contributors' work and provide detailed feedback on accuracy and consistency with policy practice.
  • Summarize public comments on proposed regulations and group them by theme and substantive issue.
  • Draft clear agency responses to substantive comments, supported by sound regulatory reasoning.
  • Recommend acceptance or rejection of public proposals using evidence and the applicable rules.
  • Keep deliverables faithful to actual drafting, comment review and agency response workflows.

Preferred experience

Current or former work as a federal regulatory analyst, policy specialist or attorney adviser is preferred, including GS-0301, GS-0905 or equivalent experience. Relevant knowledge includes federal drafting, public comment analysis and the preparation of notices, proposed or final rules, and responses to petitions or public input.

Familiarity with the Federal Register, the federal public comment system and OMB regulatory review is useful. A background in legal analysis, administrative law or regulatory compliance can support the work; a law degree is helpful but not required.

A current US location and demonstrated expertise in developing federal regulatory policy are also preferred. Clear writing and spoken communication, together with close attention to regulatory detail, are valuable throughout the project.
