Description
Code clinical concepts accurately
Map concepts in deidentified discharge summaries, laboratory results and progress or prognosis notes to SNOMED CT codes. The project supports clinical AI systems that interpret records and assign medical terminology.
Annotation and review
- Identify relevant concepts and record the correct codes in a structured annotation tool.
- Follow guidance on hierarchy scope, negation, medication scope, section specific inclusions and compound coding.
- Maintain consistent decisions across a large document volume.
- Flag ambiguous or disputed cases with a brief explanation so the guidance can be improved.
- Participate in adjudication rounds to resolve differences and agree on a consensus set of codes.
Qualifications
You must be a GMC registered doctor based in the UK, with a minimum of one to two years of clinical practice and experience in SNOMED CT coding or clinical terminology. Strong knowledge of documentation and coding conventions, demonstrated review accuracy and native or near native written English are required.
Comfort with digital annotation tools is important. The role combines detailed guideline application with sound clinical interpretation.
