Strategic Project Lead, J.D./Legal Expertise

The work

Own legal AI data projects from scoping through delivery. Translate client needs into clear specifications, coordinate operations with legal experts and improve workflows for accuracy, quality and scale.

• Frame pipelines, scope assignments and manage execution through delivery.
• Translate customer requests into actionable legal workflow specifications.
• Design, launch and continuously improve specialist legal data pipelines for usability, accuracy, quality and scalability across client projects.
• Coordinate operations and legal experts for rapid deployment.
• Set milestones and maintain a focused delivery cadence.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with clients.
• Manage legal specialists and project leads to meet standards and deadlines.
• Provide daily updates covering progress, blockers and specific next steps.

Experience and skills

• A JD or equivalent law degree is required.
• At least two years of professional legal practice, research, compliance, regulatory or related experience.
• At least two years leading complex projects, operational workflows or legal initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management, especially with attorneys and senior legal experts.
• Ownership, urgency and careful attention to detail.
• An entrepreneurial approach and the ability to turn ambiguous needs into plans quickly.
• Comfort in an intense, fast moving environment.
• AI, ML, lab, annotation or evaluation project experience is preferred.
• Management of legal, technical or data intensive projects is useful.
• Knowledge of legal research, contracts, litigation, compliance, data pipelines, AI training or human review operations is an advantage.

Working arrangements

This full time remote position has a national base salary range of $180,000 to $230,000 per year. Employees are eligible for equity, and performance bonuses may apply depending on role and policy.
