Backend Python Developer

The work

Help AI systems write and reason about Python by reviewing generated code and creating challenging backend tasks. Provide precise explanations of correctness, architecture and production quality using experienced engineering judgment.

• Evaluate generated Python for correctness, efficiency, PEP 8 style and production readiness.
• Develop difficult backend algorithms and data processing scripts that test reasoning.
• Explain backend behavior, architectural choices and implementation logic in accessible technical language.
• Find edge cases, security weaknesses and logical errors in API and backend code.
• Provide structured feedback that supports better model generated software.

Experience and skills

• Deep Python expertise demonstrated through production work.
• Three to five or more years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong command of Django, Flask, FastAPI or similar modern Python frameworks.
• Advanced language features, software architecture and design pattern knowledge.
• Excellent written explanations of difficult technical concepts.
• A computing or related technical degree, or equivalent professional experience.
• AI evaluation, RLHF or annotation experience is helpful.
• API security, vulnerability analysis, algorithm design, competitive programming or systems development experience is valuable.
• Large scale technical documentation or code review work is also useful.

Working arrangements

This is an hourly contract for 10 to 40 hours each week, carried out fully remotely. Work independently and asynchronously on a flexible schedule. Further assignments or an extension may become available as new projects begin.
