This opportunity suits university faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and advanced doctoral candidates in political science, government, or international relations or closely related fields. A completed PhD or candidacy from the third year onward, with coursework finished, is required from a reputable institution; applicants at the dissertation stage are included.

You should have a visible research record, which may consist of journal articles reviewed by peers, working papers, or presentations at conferences. Strong analytical skills and experience evaluating difficult questions with formal, rigorous methods are essential.

Specialist knowledge is required in one or more of the following areas:

• US politics and institutions, comparative politics, and democratization.
• International relations, security, political economy, and political philosophy or theory.
• Public opinion, electoral processes, and political behavior; the intersection of public law with judicial politics.
• Quantitative or qualitative research, including causal methods.
• Conflict, peace, international organizations, public administration, and policy.

Precise writing and a careful approach to detail are important throughout the review process. The role calls for the ability to communicate disciplinary reasoning clearly while working without close supervision.

Contract and availability

Pay may reach $75 per hour, depending on the project. The arrangement is part time, with flexible hours and remote work that can be combined with an existing professional role.
