Description
Support a daily pharmacovigilance program
Translate French from France into British and US English for a pharmaceutical program handling substantial daily volumes. This ongoing freelance engagement covers safety and regulatory material, including adverse event reports and related clinical documentation, under strict deadlines.
The program needs reliable daily capacity and is not suitable for a part time schedule. You must be able to deliver time sensitive work within turnaround times that cannot be extended.
Translation and review tasks
- Translate pharmacovigilance documents and clinical or regulatory content from French into English.
- Post edit machine translated safety text and copy edit translated or post edited material for accuracy, tone, and consistent wording.
- Follow each project's setup instructions while working in the client's CAT tool environment.
- Occasionally transcribe scanned or handwritten PDF material into Word to prepare it for translation.
Transcription assignments require a personal Gmail account for access to the client's system. The project supplies an XTM license, with onboarding and connector configuration provided as part of the setup process.
Required qualifications
- Hold a degree in translation, linguistics, or language studies, or an equivalent degree with substantial translation training.
- Have at least two years of professional experience translating life sciences documents.
- Demonstrate strong French and the ability to produce English translations; native English proficiency is preferred rather than mandatory.
- Have worked with XTM or comparable CAT tools.
- Be dependable, flexible, and prepared to meet rapid deadlines without extensions.
Experience with drug safety material is preferred. Relevant documents include serious and nonserious adverse events (SAE/AE), PSURs, SUSARs, ICSRs, DSURs, and risk management plans (RMP).
Regulatory or clinical translation experience is also relevant, including medical reports, protocols, synopses, informed consent forms, discharge reports, study reports, SmPC, PIL, and medical literature. Your experience should support accurate handling of the terminology and document types involved in these assignments.
Additional strengths
A healthcare background is helpful, particularly nursing or medical practice with emergency room experience; other healthcare professions are also welcome. Availability during US business hours and willingness to provide daily or weekend capacity are additional advantages.
Assessment and CV information
Candidates must be willing to complete the assessment used during onboarding and quality review. Prepare an updated CV in English describing your medical and life sciences translation work.
Include your years of life sciences experience, the document types you have handled, the CAT tools you have used, and other relevant background details. Current email and telephone contact information should be included with that experience.
