Record French speech for voice assistants

You'll record short activation phrases and scripted statements commonly used with voice assistants. These speech samples help improve voice technology, and the project is entirely remote.

Selected participants receive two recording tasks and can choose to complete one or both. Each task contains 100 recordings and takes approximately one hour, for a maximum of 200 recordings and about two hours in total, depending on project needs.

Participation requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and a native French speaker from any region of France.
• Have good English, since all project instructions are provided in English.
• Be able to carry out the project on a mobile phone.
• Record with a wired headset or the phone's own microphone.
• Have access to a quiet indoor recording environment.

Participants are contacted according to the project's current demographic needs. The profiles needed can change as collection progresses, so selection depends on the requirements at that time.

Choosing your recording commitment

The one task option involves 100 recordings and an estimated hour of participation. Choosing both tasks increases the assignment to 200 recordings and about two hours, but completing only one remains an option.

The $75 total applies only when both tasks are completed and accepted, rather than to a single recording session.

Tasks and quality review

Follow the supplied instructions while recording each short phrase. The quality assurance team reviews all submissions against the project's requirements and sends feedback once its checks are complete.

Compensation depends on completed and accepted work. A single accepted task pays $30 USD; completing both tasks with acceptance adds $15 to the two task payments, giving a total of $75 USD.

Payment methods and timing

PayPal payments are expected within ten to 15 business days after the work is accepted. Participants need to accept incoming payments so the funds are not returned.

Bank transfers are expected within 14 to 17 business days after acceptance. This method is available only for payments above $50 USD, and the receiving bank may charge transfer fees.

Recording privacy

The project states that participant data remains confidential and will not be used for advertising or distribution. Recordings are collected for the voice assistant technology project under the supplied instructions.
