Life Sciences Research Scientist (PhD): Wet Lab & Computational Biology

Research evaluation

Create demanding life sciences problems and evaluate whether AI answers are scientifically accurate, rigorous and well reasoned. Connect experimental and computational perspectives to judge proposed experiments, analysis pipelines and interpretations.

• Write expert problems with clear, verifiable solutions.
• Detect subtle scientific errors that general reviewers may miss.
• Develop detailed rubrics and reference answers grounded in primary literature and established methods.
• Explain reasoning clearly so other experts can follow and validate it.
• Improve work through feedback and peer review.

Relevant areas include genomics, transcriptomics, single-cell and spatial omics, epigenomics, proteomics, metabolomics, microbiome and metagenomics, structural biology, drug discovery, systems biology and clinical or translational research.

Required qualifications

• A completed PhD in biology, molecular biology, genetics, genomics, biochemistry, bioinformatics, computational biology, immunology, neuroscience, microbiology or a closely related life science.
• Hands-on research experience in an academic, institutional or industry laboratory.
• Professional written and spoken English at C1 level or higher.

Strongly preferred background

Personal experience performing wet lab experiments is strongly preferred. Examples include PCR or qPCR, cell culture, sequencing library preparation, Western blots, protein purification, LC-MS sample preparation and CRISPR workflows.

Academic work as a postdoctoral researcher, staff scientist, research faculty member or equivalent is also preferred. Other preferred qualifications include peer reviewed publications, ideally as first or corresponding author, and a PhD from a leading research university.
