Professional background

At least four years in the energy industry is required. Relevant roles span reservoir, drilling and production engineering, petrophysics and reserves analysis; plant performance and reliability; plant or control room operations and shift supervision; meter data, utility fieldwork and maintenance; billing, regulatory analysis, FERC reporting and rate cases; renewable generation, REC trading, solar design and interconnection; EHS, process safety, NERC CIP and environmental analysis; power markets, load forecasts and PPAs; and electrical or field service work in industrial or utility settings.

Practical workflows may include reservoir simulation, AFE preparation, meter data validation, load forecasting, emissions reports, predictive maintenance, regulatory rate case filings or renewable generation forecasts.

No previous AI experience is needed. You should communicate clearly in writing, pay close attention to details and manage assignments independently in a remote setting.

Compensation and participation

Rates can reach $80 per hour and depend on the project. This is an ongoing stream of contract projects that can fit around other activities, rather than a traditional employment role.

The work is remote, part time and asynchronous, with flexible scheduling and no minimum hours. Contributors on active projects commonly spend around 5–20 hours per week. Assignments depend on current project needs, with consideration for future projects as suitable work becomes available.

Participation starts with account registration, identity verification and onboarding to a relevant project before paid work begins.
