Senior Data Analyst

Finance data and automation

Work within FP&A, reporting directly to its director and collaborating with her day to day. Partner with central data analytics and data engineering colleagues on infrastructure, standards and more complex technical issues.

This is a practical building role. Financial and operating information is spread across Workday Financials, Adaptive Planning, Salesforce, a Redshift warehouse, Power BI and years of Excel files, with important knowledge embedded in undocumented spreadsheets, manual procedures and Power Query workflows.

Rebuild the process behind the spreadsheet

• Investigate an existing workbook or process to understand the purpose it serves and the decisions its users need to make.
• Trace calculations and business logic back to source data, identifying how the current workflow operates.
• Design a better solution, which may be a rebuilt data pipeline, a SQL or Python replacement, a driver based view, an exception monitoring process or an AI assisted tool.
• Build repeatable workflows and dashboards that refresh automatically and integrate information across systems.
• Scope substantial pipeline or data mart work appropriately and coordinate its delivery with data engineering.

FP&A AI repository

Help determine the direction of a developing repository that captures finance documentation, business rules and workflows. The aim is to let AI carry out FP&A processes reliably, supported by documented logic rather than isolated answers to individual questions.

Required approach

The role combines direct fluency in querying, shaping and manipulating data with an engineering approach to reliable systems. Investigation is equally important: you need to interpret what the information reveals and understand user requirements before deciding how to rebuild a process.

Success depends on improving the underlying workflow, rather than reproducing every feature of a legacy spreadsheet without questioning its purpose. Work closely with finance users while maintaining alignment with shared data infrastructure and technical standards.
