Welsh English recordings

Contribute natural conversational speech to research aimed at improving AI recognition of Welsh English. This contract takes place in person at a professional studio assigned locally in Wales.

The commitment is two or three sessions of approximately four hours each, paid at a competitive hourly rate. The project does not clone voices.

• Perform solo recordings and dialogue with another speaker.
• Make conversation sound spontaneous, realistic, and natural.
• Adjust delivery, pace, and tone across scenarios in response to light direction.
• Maintain the authenticity and professional consistency of each performance.

Performer profile

Professional voice acting or voice-over experience in a studio is required. A native or near-native Welsh accent is the central qualification, and participants must currently live in Wales and be able to attend the studio.

You need working English, comfort performing natural dialogue beyond scripted readings, reliable participation, and openness to direction.

Useful experience

Acting, broadcasting, podcast production, and previous studio work are helpful. Confidence in both individual monologues and conversational exchanges is also welcome.

Project scope

The recordings support AI research into how people in Wales speak and make speech technology more representative of Welsh English. Sessions are run by a professional team with a defined, limited commitment.
