Research work

Evaluate AI-generated content against professional practice in computational modeling, materials simulation and research engineering. Produce analytical work and data outputs independently using established industry tools.

• Assess AI material using practical knowledge of the field and explain where it does not reflect real work.
• Produce expert analytical deliverables and data in the structured format specified for each project.
• Complete professional assignments independently; the stated examples include price forecasting models and PPA documentation.

Experience and tools

The work requires at least two years of professional experience in materials science, computational modeling or research engineering. Relevant role histories include Materials Scientist, Materials Modeling Engineer, Battery R&D Engineer, Computational Chemist, Modeling & Simulation Engineer or Controls Engineer, or equivalent work in the sector.

Practical experience with at least one of these tools is needed: MATLAB or Materials Studio.

Write clearly, check details carefully and manage tasks without close supervision. Collaboration and delivery take place asynchronously, so independent execution is an important part of the role.

Contract terms

Hourly compensation may reach $80, depending on the particular project. This is an ongoing set of project-based contracts, not a conventional employment opening.

All work is remote, part time and flexibly scheduled. No minimum weekly commitment applies; participants with an active assignment commonly contribute about 5–20 hours per week, alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work or industry employment.

Placement is tied to current project demand, with possible consideration for future assignments as needs change. Participation begins with registration, identity verification and onboarding into a relevant project before work and earnings start.
