Description

Citation review work

Contribute practical law review editing skills to a legal citation project. Review grading standards and create tasks that test citation accuracy, source support and editorial reasoning.

This is remote contractor work paying $50 to $80 per hour. Prior AI experience is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Review Bluebook and pincite rubrics for unclear, incomplete or inconsistently applied rules.
  • Identify uncovered edge cases and recommend how the rubric should address them.
  • Build sample tasks pairing source material with realistic citation errors, the correct answer and an explanation of the relevant rule.
  • Cover different citation types and difficulty levels, from formatting mistakes to subtle pincite and source-support problems.
  • Apply Bluebook rules consistently, and raise ambiguous cases with project coordinators.
  • Complete assigned work on schedule and at the expected quality level.

Experience

The role calls for current or recent law school enrollment, practical Bluebook experience and law review or law journal editing. Preferred candidates include second or third year law students and recent JD graduates, particularly those with citation checking or source collection experience.

Strong knowledge of pincites, short forms, signals and parentheticals is valuable. You should explain why a citation is wrong, remain careful during lengthy reviews and meet deadlines independently.

Journal, articles or executive editor experience is a plus.

Selection

The process includes screening questions, an AI interview to demonstrate your skills, hiring team profile review and onboarding support.
