Physics Expert (PhD / Postdoc)

The work

Contribute advanced physics research expertise to AI training through precise problem solving and reproducible analysis. Prepare detailed derivations and computational checks in your specialty. Previous AI experience is not required.

• Solve advanced problems with fully documented derivations, assumptions, approximations and final results in LaTeX.
• Verify symbolic or numerical work with SymPy, Python and Jupyter when appropriate.
• Identify boundary conditions, special cases, dimensional consistency issues and other subtleties.
• Flag ambiguous problem statements and propose justified interpretations or clarification.
• Incorporate reviewer feedback cleanly into revised solutions.
• Maintain research level standards for documentation and repeatable computational work.

Preferred experience and skills

• Preferred candidates hold a physics PhD or are advanced doctoral candidates with active research experience.
• Relevant fields include high energy or mathematical physics, biophysics, statistical physics, condensed matter, AMO or quantum optics, gravitation, cosmology, astrophysics, quantum information and optical materials.
• Condensed matter expertise may include moiré systems, magnetism or PXP/Rydberg research.
• Two to five representative publications from roughly the last five years, accessible through arXiv or DOI records.
• LaTeX proficiency and computational ability in SymPy, Python and Jupyter, with openness about areas needing support.
• Precise technical writing, strong analysis and the ability to isolate physical principles in complex questions.
• Consistent participation over an eight to ten week period, approximately 10 hours weekly, is preferred.

Working arrangements

The contractor opportunity is fully remote worldwide. The listed schedule is 10 to 15 or more hours weekly, with flexibility for after hours and weekend work.
