Description
Localization quality and proofreading
Review and refine Lithuanian content so it reads naturally and accurately in its intended product context. This is a long term opportunity with no stated end date, combining language review with hands on quality assurance for digital products.
The work covers grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, formatting and cultural or contextual accuracy. It also includes occasional translation from English into Lithuanian.
Product testing responsibilities
- Follow the supplied instructions and test cases accurately while checking different products.
- Explore user interfaces for localization problems or functional issues that affect the experience of the intended audience.
- Record clear bug reports in internal databases and client specific tracking tools, using established reporting practices.
- Check implemented fixes to confirm that the reported issues have been resolved correctly.
- Understand and prioritize tasks and issues promptly, and complete assigned work to the required quality and timeline.
- Troubleshoot basic problems, explain what you have found and escalate testing issues when needed.
Language responsibilities
- Evaluate translations as they appear in software, mobile applications and documentation.
- Proofread for correct language, smooth reading and consistency within the relevant context.
- Research and resolve linguistic questions, providing specialist judgment on Lithuanian usage and the cultural expectations of Lithuania.
- Follow the assignment’s quality standards, trademark requirements, style guides, checklists and glossaries.
- Translate from English when requested, preserving the intended meaning and the relevant locale conventions.
Skills and background
Native level Lithuanian and cultural awareness of Lithuania are central to the role. Strong spoken and written communication, organization and attention to detail are also important for both language review and testing.
Relevant backgrounds include marketing, journalism, copy editing, proofreading, writing, translation and localization. An interest in quality assurance within digital products helps connect linguistic judgment with test instructions, bug reports and verification of fixes.
The role calls for dependable delivery and a commitment to quality across both kinds of work: checking how the language reads and checking how the localized product behaves.
