Physics evaluation

Develop challenging physics questions and reference solutions for language models, including systems such as ChatGPT. Work with AI researchers to improve benchmarks spanning undergraduate through master's-level material.

• Write problems in areas including mechanics, electromagnetism, and thermodynamics.
• Explain each solution through a logically rigorous sequence of steps.
• Check model responses for factual correctness and the strength of their reasoning.
• Refine the evaluation material with researchers and provide organized feedback.

Qualifications

You must be pursuing or have completed a master's in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related discipline. Advanced problem-solving ability and strong physics reasoning are required, along with clear written explanations of difficult concepts.

Previous AI work is unnecessary. Experience in annotation, data quality, or evaluation systems is helpful.

Terms and selection

This hourly contract is fully remote and pays $35 to $55 per hour, with a weekly commitment of 10 to 40 hours. Scheduling is flexible, and additional contract opportunities or renewals may be available.

The selection process takes about 15 to 20 minutes and includes a resume, a brief screening, project matching, and onboarding. Applications are reviewed daily; completing the AI interview and remaining application steps is necessary for consideration.
